Hotchkiss boasts a high fire rate and uses a 30 round clip magazine. The weapon was quite susceptible to mud and dirt and wasn’t ideal for trench warfare.
– Official Verdun Weapon Guide[3]

The Hotchkiss, or Hotchkiss M1909 "Benét–Mercié", is a machine gun used by the Tommies and the Belgians as their standard medium machine gun. Unlike the German MG 08/15 with 100 rounds before needing to reload, this weapon has a clip size of 30 rounds, though its reload speed is much faster.

The Hotchkiss also has an extremely high fire rate, making it very easy to lose track of ammunition if firing in anything even approaching a continuous manner. Due to its high fire rate, it is recommended to only fire in bursts.
